The William J. Burson Question

James Cody and David Lawson are the sons of Jonathan and Nancy

Son of James Cody and Lucinda P.

William J.  #1
Born: November 7, 1839 Campbell County Georgia
Married: Martha Wester
Died: October 26, 1866 Campbell County Georgia
Son of David Lawson and Celia Anna

William J. (Jonathan) #2
Born: 1833 Campbell County, Georgia
Married: Martha ???
Died: ???

William J. #2 is listed as the head of household in an 1855 Census of Tallapoosa County, Alabama. If he was born in 1833, he would be 22 years old at this time and capable of being a family head. William J. #1 would be 16 years old and living in Campbell County, Georgia during this time. Being a head of household at 16 would be a stretch even for the Civil War era.

William J. is listed on the Muster Roll of the 47th Alabama Volunteer Infantry, Company B along with Isaac J. and James A. Burson. More than likely this is William J. #2, brother of Isaac J. and James A., and not my Great Great Grandfather, William J. #1.
